Pioneer Underwriters has hired Mark Kelsey as an underwriter in its political violence team.

He joins from Advent Underwriting, where he was a terrorism and political violence underwriter.

Kelsey has nine years of experience in the specialty political violence space. Prior to Advent, he served in a similar role at Aspen.

Commenting on the hire, the firm’s group director of underwriting Graeme Rayner says: “Pioneer’s priority remains to strengthen our niche product offering, to provide value to our capital partners through access to excellent distribution and underwriting services. Mark is a great talent and will provide a significant boost to our team.”
