WTW hires director of multinational trade credit business in UK expansion

Christine Cary, formerly of Aon, has joined broker WTW as director of multinational trade credit in the UK.

Cary has 25 years’ experience in the credit insurance market, most recently serving as client director for Aon’s credit solutions division for five years. Previously, she spent two years as head of key partnerships at Coface’s UK and Ireland division and before that served as business development manager at Allianz Trade. Her career began as a credit insurance broker at BPL, where she spent seven and a half years.

Cary also has a background in commercial banking, having served for five years at Barclays as a manager in the industry.

Cary is the first UK hire for WTW’s multinational trade credit team, where she is responsible for growing the broker’s trade credit business with a focus on helping multinational clients based in the UK, according to a spokesperson.

She reports to Michael Creighton, head of UK trade credit and trade finance, as well as Burkhard Wittgen, who leads the global multinational trade credit team.

Wittgen says he is “excited to welcome Christine Cary as multinational client leader in the UK”.

With her deep expertise and industry experience, she’s a fantastic addition to our WTW multinational value proposition. Christine will bring real value to both WTW and our multinational corporate clients, especially in trade credit and trade finance.”

Creighton says that Cary’s arrival provides “significant support to our UK growth strategy, building on our already compelling value proposition to UK corporates and multinationals seeking complex, cost-effective credit insurance solutions”.
