Enigio appoints chief product officer to lead new department

Technology firm Enigio has promoted Philipp Goldberg to chief product officer and created a dedicated product department.

The move underlines Enigio’s ongoing bid to grow and meet the “increasing demand for scalable digital trade solutions”, the firm said.

The department aims to make it easier for businesses to start and scale digital trade, alongside “a clear focus on long-term customer value”.

In the new role, Goldberg will be responsible for product strategy, development and lasting value creation.

He will also be tasked with aligning strategy with customer needs, simplifying trade workflows and “ensuring measurable value for organisations adopting digital documentation”.

“At its core, product is about solving real problems for real users and making their lives measurably better,” Goldberg said.

“In this role, my priority is to ensure our product brings clarity and impact to complex trade processes – so our customers can focus on growing their business with confidence.”

Goldberg joined the Stockholm-headquartered firm in May last year as vice-president of commercial operations, working with customers and cross-functional teams across sales, delivery and engineering.

He previously held roles such as vice-president at delivery management firm nShift and chief commercial officer at returns platform Returnado.

Petter Nylander, Enigio’s interim chief executive, said: “Creating a dedicated product function under Philipp’s leadership strengthens our commitment to true customer centricity – where strategy, technology and user experience are fully aligned.

“Our ambition is clear: to make trace:original [Enigio’s digital trade document platform] one of the leading and most respected digital trade solutions globally. That requires not only innovation and scalability, but also an uncompromising focus on solving real customer challenges with clarity, simplicity and measurable impact.”

Nylander replaced former chief executive Patrik Zekkar in the role in December. Zekkar remains with Enigio and continues to lead its business in trade finance and transport and logistics, the firm said at the time.

Previously director of Enigio’s board, Nylander has held senior leadership roles in technology and media companies, including content moderation firm Besedo and online gambling platform Unibet.

Enigio said the appointment was part of a “significant strategic expansion” to extend the use of trace:original beyond the trade finance, transport and logistics and educational sectors.

Last September, the firm brought in digital trade and working capital specialist Merisa Lee Gimpel as a consultant, to help drive adoption of the fintech’s flagship product.
